Organic farm in Nam Dong 2019

Organic farm in Nam Dong - a busy day.

The organic farm in Nam Dong district of Thua Thien, Hué province, Central Vietnam, is another aid project by Aide Au Vietnam (AAV).

Cofinanced by Aide Au Vietnam, our fellow NGO Beetebuerg Hëlleft (BH) and the Luxembourg Ministry of Cooperation (MAEE), together with our local Vietnamese partner Office of Genetic Counseling for Disabled Children (OGCDC) in Hué, this 217.000,00 € project, consists of the construction and running of an organic farm for disabled young people from ages 16-25.

Up to 20 young people, with mental and physical disabilities (cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, Down syndrome etc.) reside at the farm, getting a vocational training in gardening and raising of animals, allowing them to have a life in human dignity and to develop their skills.

The produce of the farm is sold to local and regional customers.

UNE JOURNÉE BIEN REMPLIE !

A busy day, getting up at 6 A.M., travelling from Hué, to Nam Dong (50km), visiting the farm and meeting the youngsters (which are all my friends) again, visiting parents of the youngsters staying at the farm, having lunch together and holding a working meeting with the teachers, before heading back to Hué.

Meeting up with them each, year, and noticing their development, is truly a very rewarding feeling !

You will find the other years in our archives, however if you wish to have more information, do not hesitate to contact us at 00352-621 960 203 or by email: info@aideauvietnam.lu
